Icon Building Group founder Gino Gigliotti had the perfect background for merging design and construction into one house when he founded the company in Sydney in 2000.
Gino had studied and worked as a draftsman for nine years, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of building design, including residential, commercial and industrial. The next step was working on site for a large construction company while studying for his own builders license. Again Gino acquired priceless hands-on experience across the entire arc of building, from being a labourer all the way on through to foreman.
In 2000 and on completion of his building licence, Gino began Icon Building Group with his wife, Franca. From the beginning, Gino participated start-to-finish in the design and construction of all of his projects for clients.
Honors for quality were not long in coming Icon’s way. As a member of the Master Builders Association of NSW, Gino and Icon Building Group won a Merit Award at the 2002 MBA Excellence in Housing Awards in the category of Design & Construct House.
As its reputation grew, Icon Building Group expanded with great success into commercial office fitouts and retail shop fitouts while maintaining the same award-winning standards for excellence, ease and enjoyability with clients, tradesmen and contractors alike.
