Adelong Swimming Complex - Tumut Shire Council

"Extracts from Tumut & Adelong Times April 16,2013

With construction commencing just under two months ago, the project is on schedule, and progressing well, with the former bowling green site now unrecognisable as extensive excavation works have transformed the area in readiness for the construction phase of the operation.

The bulk of the excavation is now complete and next week we will be starting to lay filtration pipe and pool reinforcement.

We will also be commencing on services, water, gas, sewer and storm water and pouring the building slab. The weather has certainly been in our favour

Icon is utilising local contractors where feasible, it is important to support local businesses.

Mitchbrook Mason has been fantastic doing all the excavation work for us and our concrete contractor Darrell Buckley is also local. We are trying to keep local as much as possible in all facets of the project"

2013 will see Icon Building Group commencing this project to design and construct a new pool complex at Adelong, for Tumut Shire Council

This project will consist of a fully tiled concrete six lane 25m pool,  program pool and wading pool with beach entry (walk-in). Water play splash pad, amenities, undercover and elevated viewing areas, shade sail area

Council major requirement to have the pool reopened in time for the summer season - Pool reopened October 2012
