Bondi
Our design brief from the owners of this modest terrace was to maximize the width of the property keeping the kitchen, family, meals as open and inviting as possible. We must also make a first floor addition comprising two bedrooms and a two way bathroom/ensuite and walk in robe. Constraints such as access, storage and site conditions were a challenging aspect although having left only two front bedrooms on the ground floor we were basically constructing 90% as new. An outdoor bbq area sheltered by vergola gives the living room the protection required during summer and privacy while entertaining. Internal finishes include spotted gum timber strip flooring and staircase, commercial framed windows and doors. The kitchen specifications include polyurethane cabinetry, marble benchtop, glass splash back and stainless appliances, as featured in the June 2008 edition of Notebook.
Bathroom inclusions are veneer cabinetry, travertine wall and floor tiling, heated towel rails and bathroom fixtures supplied by Candana. CBus was also a prerequisite and due to the clients lifestyle features include automated lighting, waterfeatures, privacy roller blinds and Bose surround sound system to set the scene.
